Helping Newcomer Families Navigate the Education System
The information on this website is intended to help settlement counselors, teachers, community support workers, school council members and other frontline professionals connect newcomer parents, children and youth with helpful information, resources, workshops and programs.
Frontline workers can play an important role in encouraging newcomer families’ to become engaged in their school and in their children’s learning. By becoming better informed about the range of resources and programs available for newcomer families, you will have the knowledge and information to help make these connections.
