Ready for School Connects

Ready for School Connects (RfSC) is a 2-week summer program that helps both children and their parents get ready for school. It connects parents and their children; families to other families; families to schools; and families to community agencies and services.

RfSC allows children to experience what a real classroom is like. Parents also learn during those 2 weeks.  They learn about how the school system works, child development, how to help their children achieve success, where to go if they experience difficulties and more.

The program also includes health screening for children.

• They have been in Canada for less than 5 years
• The family speaks a first language that is not English
• They have a child under 5 years old who is registered for Kindergarten in September 2017 at one of the following schools:

• Crescent Town Elementary School
• Secord Elementary School
• Rose Avenue Elementary School

The program is delivered in English.

East York East Toronto Family Resources can provide interpreters if needed.
