Description |
The newcomer homework club is for immigrant and refugee students in Grades 3 to 8 who live in the catchment area (see details below). The program runs two days a week: Hours: Tuesday and Thursday, 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Location: Regent Park Duke of York Public School, 20 Regent Street The homework club is a joint partnership between RPCHC, Frontier College and Ve’ahavta (the Canadian Jewish Humanitarian and Relief Committee). The homework club provides students with coaching and tutoring to support their school work. It is a forum for students to get ahead academically, as well as to increase their self confidence. This program also has an adult literacy component where parents can receive tutoring help. |
