Description | The CCVT Children & Youth program works to support survivors of torture and/or war and their families in the process of successful integration into Canadian society, works for their protection and integrity, and raises awareness of the continuing effects of torture and war on survivors and their families. Rooted in a holistic model of service delivery, programming includes trauma-informed settlement counselling, individualized matching with tutors/mentors, music, arts, and recreational activities, and an afterschool educational support program four days weekly. |
Communities Served | The CCVT serves survivors of torture, war, crimes against humanity, and/or human trafficking, and family members of survivors. |
Languages Served | Services are offered in English, French, Spanish, Dari, Farsi, Arabic, Amharic, Tigrinya, Somali, Tamil, and Portuguese. Interpreters will be used whenever possible to facilitate access to service for those who speak other languages not represented among CCVT staff. |

Client Outreach and Support Tips | Workers and/or potential clients can call CCVT to schedule an Intake appointment with a Counselor, who can then make appropriate internal and external referrals to meet the needs of individuals and families. |
