Pathways to Education, Scarborough Village – YouthLink

Pathways helps youth graduate from high school and successfully transition into post-secondary education. The program works alongside the school system, providing after-school tutoring, mentoring and financial assistance to address any barriers that can stand in the way of education.

The Pathways program offers:

• Academic support – Free tutoring 4 nights a week in the five core subjects in Scarborough Village.
• Social Support – Mentoring for Grade 9-12 students; Group mentoring for Grade 9-10 students, and specialty and career mentoring for Grade 11 & 12 students.
• Advocacy Support – Student Parent Support Workers help connect youth, parents, school administration, teachers and other community agencies to help you succeed.
• Financial Support – Immediate financial support(s) such as bus tickets are available to help with school attendance, and post-secondary education bursaries available (subject to funding availability; participants must be in the program for 2 full years).

All high school students living in the catchment area are eligible to enroll in the Pathways program, regardless of their academic performance or economic circumstance. The catchment area includes areas around Eglinton East, Markham Road & Kingston Road, and in one of the buildings.
