High School Distance Education – Independent Learning Centre

What is it?	Print and online high school courses that are accredited by the Ministry of Education.

Agency/ Provider	TVO’s Independent Learning Centre with support from the Ontario Government
Description	The high school courses are designed to offer flexible, affordable and accredited distance education. All courses are accredited by the Ministry of Education. The credits earned through ILC are identical to credits earned at a high school. How it Works: You can start and finish a course at any time of the year. There are no classes, so you can study when and where you choose. You can work at your own pace (as long as you finish the course within 10 months). Qualified ILC teacher/markers are available to help by email, and by phone. When you complete all units in a course, ILC will send you information about your test. All credit courses have a supervised final test. The registration fee for enrolling in an ILC course is $40.00. All textbooks and supplementary materials are covered in this administration fee. Communities Served	Canadian residents living in Canada or abroad and international students are eligible.
Languages Served	The program is in English. Courses in other languages that are part of the OSSD curriculum are offered.
