York University is offering a free week-long summer camp for 14-18 year-olds.
Running 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, from July 10th through July 14th 2017, the program will explore the rich histories and cultures of the Lusophone (Portuguese speaking) world, through hands-on learning and community engagement. Participants will examine issues of identity, education, migration, gender and ethnicity while gaining a better understanding of academic work and university life.
- Registration is free, and is open to interested students of all cultural/linguistic backgrounds, aged 14 to 18.
- All sessions will be delivered by experienced educators, facilitators, volunteers and students from York University.
- Most sessions will take place at York University (Keele & Steeles), but some will happen off-campus.
- Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
